Hundreds of RVs

It seems like after the New Year there is an RV show every other weekend in the Pacific Northwest. How do you know which one to attend? Shouldn’t you just attend the one closest to your home? They are all the same right?  No, all RV shows are not created equal! Let’s take a look at some of the features the upcoming 2017 Seattle RV Show offers that other RV shows don’t.

The Seattle RV Show is the largest indoor RV show in the State of Washington and features more dealers than any other RV show in the state.  All the major Puget Sound RV dealers are exhibiting at the 2017 Seattle RV Show.

Visiting them at the show saves the time and gas money you would spend driving from Mt. Vernon to Tacoma and points in between if you were to visit each dealers’ sales center individually. More dealers equal a larger selection of RVs, manufacturers and brands for you to scrutinize. More manufacturers mean there will likely be more factory representatives in attendance to answer your most detailed questions on the brand you are interested in.

If you are just thinking about entering the RV lifestyle, you want to do more than just look at hundreds of RVs, you want to gather knowledge and gain assurance that the RV lifestyle is for you. At the 2017 Seattle RV Show, you will find over 20 informative seminars. Many of the seminars were created with the beginner RVer in mind. RV Basics seminar is perfect for the brand new RVer or those simply pondering getting into the RVing lifestyle. This seminar is an overview of the major systems aboard every RV as well as those specific to towable and motorized RVs. The seminar will include those systems and more, plus tips and references for obtaining a deeper understanding of RV operation.

Once you are comfortable with the basics, you will want to attend Technically Choosing Your Next RV which will help you narrow your list of which RV is right for you from a technical standpoint.  Finally, once you have decided on the RV that you believe is right for you, attend one of the seminars that focuses on correctly towing/carrying that RV type regardless of whether it is a motorhome towing a dinghy, a truck or SUV pulling a travel trailer or fifth wheel, or a truck carrying a truck camper; there is a seminar that covers your choice of RV combination.

Once you have gained the head knowledge of RVing, stroll over to the RV Orientation exhibit where you can watch as your new-found knowledge is applied to an RV. At this exhibit, a seasoned RV technician will walk you through an RV at the show, just as if you were taking delivery of your very own.  In the walk-through, you will be shown the operation of the appliance systems, LP gas, electrical systems, fresh water and waste-water systems.  This show attraction is free to show attendees and is offered every hour noon to 5PM.  Sign up required.

Seasoned RVers will find a plethora of informative seminars to their liking. Offerings include: places to go and things to see, lifestyle seminars and technical seminars. Two new seminars at the 2017 Seattle RV Show will focus on solar power. Those wanting to see the latest gadgets and gizmos will want to stop by the Ask The Technician exhibit where they will find an RV equipped with the latest accessories staffed by knowledgeable experts ready to answer any RV service question. Right across from the Ask The Technician you will find a fully stocked RV parts and accessory store with hundreds of items to peruse that are available for purchase.

What would an RV show be without a little fun and games? The Seattle RV Show offers this too!

On Thursday and Friday you can take a free tour of CenturyLink Field. The stadium tours last one hour and include: Home Interview Room, Back of House/Seahawks Graphics Wall, Visiting NFL Locker Room and Toyota Fan Deck. CenturyLink tour guides will answer questions and show guests the marvels of the stadium.

Bring Your Toys Display - If you thought RVing was just sitting and camping, think again! Visit the Bring Your Toys display and see all of the fun things you can do from your RV. Snowmobiling, motorcycling, kayaking, jet skiing and bicycling just to name a few.

Win a Winnebago! When you enter the show you will be given an entry card for your chance to win a new Winnebago travel trailer. Take the card to the touchscreens on the Concourse level of the show and enter to win!

While only those 18 and over can enter to win the Winnebago, the Seattle RV Show has something for the 12 and younger camper too. Pirate Treasure Hunt – Kids can pick up a treasure map and booty bag at any show entrance. Follow the map to reveal the locations of six treasure chests hidden throughout the show. They can snatch a piece of pirate booty out of the chest and stash it in their booty bag.  Be sure they find all six chests as each contains a unique piece of pirate plunder. Enjoy, but beware of pirates lurking in the shadows guarding their treasure!

For those even younger, the Seattle RV Show offers Free Childcare on the weekend. Children 10 and under are welcome to take a play break in the childcare center located on the south end of the upstairs concourse. The childcare center offers fun activities including: games, toys, coloring and movies. The childcare center is open 11-6 Saturday and 11-4 Sunday.

As you can see, the 2017 Seattle RV Show offers more than just hundreds of new shiny RVs. Plan on attending the RV show that features “everything RVing” and more!

The 2017 Seattle RV Show runs February 9th – 12th at CenturyLink Field Event Center, parking is free when you buy your tickets online
