The electrical system is one of the key components of any Recreational Vehicle. It literally keeps the lights on and powers key systems within the coach. In this article I will address the basics of the electrical systems (yes, there are multiple electrical systems in an RV) so the reader will gain a better understanding.

Here we go again, fuel prices rise and people begin questioning whether RVing is a viable option.
Let’s take a look:
It will be irrelevant in a few years
Between 1976 and 2022 (per this report) the price of gas has been as high as $3.94 and as low as $3.34 per gallon when adjusted for inflation. During that time span there have been numerous “run ups” in fuel prices, gas shortages, etc. but in the end, the average price of fuel, when adjusted for inflation, was $3.64 per gallon. My guess is when you look at the average price of gas, when adjusted for inflation, in a few years will be within 5% of $3.64 per gallon for the year 2022.
The Importance of RV Driver Training

Regardless of the type of RV you drive or tow, it is important to be safe and competent on the road. Driving a larger than normal vehicle or combination (truck and trailer) requires experience and concentration at all times to protect your family and other drivers. I was a commercial over-the-road trucker in a past life, and I had to go through rigorous driver training, as well as an air-brake course, to be legally permitted to operate my tractor-trailer unit. Even though I no longer drive a semi, I still maintain my commercial drivers license (CDL), because it is a constant reminder of the training I took, the experience I have, and the responsibility I bear.

"Let's Go Fishing" (Water Access Areas)

“Let’s go fishing” was a phrase I longed to hear in my youth when spending spring break at my grandparents’ house. It meant my grandpa, Ralph Riker, and I were off to go fishing in the Quincy Lakes Recreation Area (as a ten-year-old it was just “The Lakes”). In later years, when I stayed with my grandparents in the summer to work the cherry harvest in the Wenatchee area, we would head out in their RV to farther fishing lakes in Eastern Washington like Billy Clapp Lake, Banks Lake or others.
