Northwest RVing

The Northwest RVing Blog site is hosted by MHRV (Manufactured Housing and Recreational Vehicle) Show Association. Each year, MHRV presents two important trade shows in the greater Seattle area to promote and display the RV Lifestyle. We are all about RVing and hope you will enjoy the many articles posted here about RVing in general and about our upcoming shows.

Chances are you are making your way back from a great adventure and just ran into some winter weather. Or maybe you intended to be in the elements and enjoy the ambiance of the winter season. Whatever the situation, don’t take that journey without listening to a few tips that could help make your winter RV driving travels safer and more enjoyable.

The Pacific Northwest is a great place for an active RVer. Within a couple of hours you and your family can be at the beach, high in the Cascade Mountains, or on the arid east side of the Cascades. Exploration and recreation opportunities abound in these three distinct geographical regions and there is no better place to learn about all the things to see and do via an RV than the 2018 Seattle RV Show!

Let’s look at just a few items you will discover at the show highlighting the Pacific Northwest.

With the enjoyment and busyness of Christmas and New Year’s celebrations behind us, we are now entering that time of year when I start to get antsy for a vacation. There aren’t any major holidays for a few months and though I definitely love the winter weather, there are times when I feel like getting a quick dose of summer in the middle of the season. With no vacations on the horizon and our trailer winterized until spring, now is the time to start planning ahead, getting prepared and giving myself a vacation to look forward to. By taking the time now to secure a location, get a jump start on my packing list and update the trailer’s inventory, I can then look forward to our vacation with ease knowing it’s all taken care of.

The 2018 Seattle RV Show is coming up February 8th – 11th at CenturyLink Field Event Center. This year's show has more of everything RVing with several new RV dealers and hundreds of RVs.

In addition to a great selection of RVs to fit any RV lifestyle, following are a few of the highlights you can expect at the show:

Unlike other northern states that experience sub-freezing temperatures during most of the winter, Northwest RVers with access to the coastline can enjoy winter camping compliments of the Pacific Ocean and the temperate winter weather it provides.

Here is a suggestion for a place to camp and outdoor activities to enjoy this winter:

Washington Park in Anacortes offers a year-round campground that features 68 campsites, with 46 of those containing water and 30 amp electrical service. All campsites include a campfire ring and picnic table set in a heavily wooded conifer forest. Given the heavy tree cover, late winter sunrises and all the outdoor activities you will be enjoying in or nearby the park, sleeping in will not be a problem during your stay!
